Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - “The celebration of the diocesan Mission Sunday 26 September is moved by the desire to foster active participation of the faithful”. This was said by Italian PIME missionary Fr Renzo Milanese dean of New Territories Deanery one of the team responsible for organising Hong Kong diocesan Mission Sunday. The faithful participated actively in the Day opening the doors of their parishes to welcome non Christians and to share with them the “nature of the Church, her history and her service” and the situation of the local Catholic community in Hong Kong. On 28 October the diocese will take part in a “Path of Evangelisation”, to make the Catholic Church better known. Fr. Milanese explains in the diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao.: “In the past the diocesan Day focussed on the diocese to foster unity and solidarity in the diocese. This year it focuses on the deanery to foster active participation on the part of all the faithful”. Various initiatives launched on 26 September will continue up toe World Mission Sunday and beyond. From 14 October to 25 November Kow Long deanery will hold “Open Days”, to make the Catholic Church and community ever more widely known among the local people.
