Born in Fiobbio, a little village near Bergamo, 7 January 1931, the first born of humble farmers. She is a worker; engaged in Catholic Action and in parochial activities. She dies 6 April 1957.

5 May - BLESSED PETRINA MOROSINI, lay woman

After completing the elementary school and after the war is over, Pierina obtains work in the cotton mill in Albino, a nearby town, and she contributes to the support of the family. Her life extends beyond the work in which she is employed. In her childhood she enrolls in Catholic Action, in 1947 she becomes director of the Girls Group. She animates the groups and collaborates assiduously with the parish. In the afternoon of 4 April 1957 on her way home after work, she is attacked by a young man who attempts to rape her. Pierina resists with all her strength and he strikes her on the forehead with a stone. She falls in a coma and dies two days later in the hospital of Bergamo. She is beatified by John Paul II 4 April 1987.
