Brasilia (Fides Service) - “Christ the one foundation of the Church” is the theme of the week of prayer for Christian unity which this year will be marked all over Brazil from 8 to 15 May. The week of prayer for unity is in harmony with the Ecumenical Fraternity Campaign 2005, involving all the different Christian confessions in Brazil. “The Week is not a series of services, it is a week of prayer for Christian unity and the aim is to orient and educate Christian communities on the path of reconciliation, plan permanent ecumenical activities among the communities in order to transform human relations in the light of the Gospel” we read in a leaflet issued by the organising body Council of Christian Churches in Brazil CONIC Conselho Nacional de Igrejas Cristãs do Brasil.
