AFRICA/DEMOCRATIC CONGO - “The heart of Africa sends message of good wishes for a speedy recovery to the Shepherd of the universal Church” director of Radio Maria in Bukavu east Congo

Bukavu (Fides Service)- “Our radio is following the development of the Pope’s health condition, minute by minute. Our listeners want to be constantly updated with the latest information with regard to Pope John Paul II” Father Luigi Lo Stocco, director of Radio Maria Malkia wa Amani (Mary Queen of Peace) Bukavu, south Kivu, the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. “Prayers for the Pope’s speedy recovery are said at every Mass here in Bukavu. The local Marian Movement has organised special prayers at the Marian Shrine on Mater Dai hill ” Father Luigi told Fides.
“Thanks to modern technology our radio situated in the middle of Africa is able to keep its listeners informed of the Holy Father’s condition. We make a new announcement every time there is a new development” said the director of Radio Maria.
