Vatican (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 14 January 2005 signed a decree with regard to the institution of Sancta Maria Mater Ecclesiae Inter-diocesan Major Seminary in Karaganda, diocese of Karaganda, Kazakstan. The Cardinal appointed Rector of the seminary Rev. Zygmunt Kwieciński of Kielce diocese (Poland). Rev. Kwieciński was born 15 October 1960 at Kowala, diocese of Kielce (Poland). After school in Kowala and Kielc he entered the seminary of Kielce in 1984. He was ordained a priest on 9 June 1990, for the diocese of Kielce. He has since been: assistant priest (1990-1993) diocesan retreat Director (1994-1996). Since 1996 he has been in mission in Kazakstan, where he was parish priest (1996-2000) and since 2000 Rector of the Diocesan major seminary of Karaganda. (S.L.)
