Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, appointed on 24 September 2004, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Rwanda for a five year term (2004-2009), Reverend Ladislas Habimana, a member of the clergy of Butare diocese. The new National Director was born on 28 October 1943 in Nyaruguru, parish of Kibeho, province of Gikongoro. He was ordained for the diocese of Butare, on 24 August 1975. He studied for a Licentiate in Theology at Fribourg. He has been successively, a teacher, prefect of studies and Rector of Christ the King College in Nyanza, Butare diocese (1980/89); general secretary of the Rwandan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (1989/1996); rector and teachers at the major propaedeutic seminary in Rutongo (1996/2004) bursar at the same seminary (2002/2004).
