| Vatican City (Fides Service) - Fides has opened a new section (www.fides.org) offering information in view of this major Church event which involves Catholics all over the world.
On Fides ‘Year of the Eucharist’ page besides Pope John Paul II’s teaching on the subject and that of the Church Fathers and other Bishops, you will find a summary on the Sacrament of the Eucharist and conditions for receiving Holy Communion, based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The page also provides news of initiatives organised in local Churches all over the world for this special Year. The first major event is the 48th International Eucharistic Congress, 10 -17 October in Guadalajara, Mexico, of which we give the programme, testimony, comments, updated news on the event, as well as a surprise section called “14 questions on Eucharistic Congresses”.
