Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples has appointed, 22 July 2004, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Colombia for a five year term (2004-2009), Reverend Héctor Luis Valencia López of the diocesan clergy of Florencia. The new Director was born on 28 July1941 in La Merced, Caldas. He was ordained a priest on 20 November 1966. He has since been assistant priest, parish priest in a number of parishes, one in the apostolic Vicariate of San Vicente-Puerto Leguizamo; diocesan director of youth pastoral; spiritual director and rector at Manizales minor seminary; Vicar general of Florencia diocese. Since 2002 national secretary of the local branch of the Pontifical Missionary Union and in charge of missionary animation at the national mission centre.
