Hsin Chu (Fides Service) - With deep devotion and joy Catholics in the Taiwan diocese of Hsin Chu, gathered for a solemn mass on the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 16 July, presided by the local Bishop Luke Liu Hsien-tan.
Many of those present, clergy and lay faithful wore Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s scapular. Our Lady promised to help those who wear it to draw closer to God, to enter into communion with Him and be inwardly purified.
According to the Catholic bulletin of Taipei archdiocese “Christian Life Weekly”, the solemn Mass was to honour Our Lady and to thank God for the presence of Carmelites men and women who have served the local people in Hsin Chu diocese for more than 20 years.
