Rome (Fides Service) - The European Union has decided to extend until December 15 its ban on poultry and domestic birds from Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Pakistan, China, South Korea and Vietnam, countries affected by bird flu.
The import ban, due to expire on 15 August, has been extended because in some countries the virus persists and in recent weeks new outbreaks have been reported. (AP) (27/7/2004 Agenzia Fides; Righe:11; Parole: 84)
