Rome (Fides Service) - Korean born Archbishop Paul Tschang In-nam, Papal Nuncio to Bangladesh, recently wrote to his home diocese of Cheongju in Korea to express gratitude for spiritual and material help given by the local Church in Korea to support missionaries and he asked them to keep up the good work of supporting missionary activity.
Since the Archbishop was appointed Nuncio to Bangladesh, in October 2002, the Church in Korea has sent a total sum of 242,000 US dollars which was used for various needs including the building of offices for the Bishops’ Conference, formation of priests and religious, education and healthcare for the needy, building of several new churches and grants to priests and religious.
Commenting the news that next year a community of Korean Sisters will open a mission in Bangladesh, the Archbishop urged missionary and diocesan priests in Korea to request permission from their bishops to do a term of mission in Bangladesh.
