Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples has appointed, 20 April 2004, Rector of St Francis Xavier Pontifical Inter-diocesan Seminary a Poona (India) Reverend Ornellas Coutinho SJ.
The new rector, a member of the Society of Jesus, is 61 and he belongs to the province of Gujarat. He has worked in the field of formation for future priests first at the De Nobili College in Poona and then at Berchmans Training College, also in Poona, showing competence, organisation and leadership abilities as well as a capacity to motivate others.
