Vatican City (Fides Service) – Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, has appointed 24 January 2004, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Honduras, for a five year term (2004-2009), Reverend Father Guy Plante a member of the Quebec Society for Foreign Missions. Reverend Plante was born on 15 August 1936 in Montreal (Canada). He was ordained a priest on 24 December 1961. He has a doctorate in Moral Theology. On mission in Honduras since 1970, he has held various pastoral responsibilities: parish priest in Choluteca diocese for many years; Vicar for pastoral and Vicar general of the diocese; Rector of Nuestra Señora de Suyapa major seminary at Tegucigalpa (1977-80; 1992-1996).
