Vatican City (Fides Service) – The programme for Pope John Paul II’s one day pilgrimage to the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Pompei, in Pompei, near Naples, on October 7th feast of Our Lady Queen of the Rosary, has been released by the Vatican press Office.
The Pope will depart by helicopter at 9am from the heliport in the Vatican Gardens. He will arrive at 10 at a heliport prepared at the excavations of Pompei. After being welcomed by the authorities the Pope will drive by Pope-mobile to the Basilica of Pompei, where at 10.30 he will lead the recitation of the Rosary for Peace in the world and give a homily.
