Rome (Fides Service) - "In this turbulent year with no few concerns for the destiny of humanity, I wished for the prayer of the Rosary would have the special intention the cause of peace and the family". This was the reason the Pope gave when last October he called for this present Marian Year of the Rosary. Responding to his call the Focolare Movement has organised an International Marian Congress: Contemplating Christ through the eyes of Mary" 28-30 April 2003, at Castelgandolfo, a town outside Rome. Participants will include representatives of Church movements and communities, other Christian communions, the Jewish and Muslim traditions. The purpose of the congress, a mosaic of spirituality, theology, testimony enriched by several artistic events - is to help reveal the riches of the Gospel proposed by the Rosary prayer, because as we contemplate Christ through the eyes of Mary - as the Pope witness- we become peace-makers of a world closer to the plan of God".
