Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, has appointed (21 March 2003) rector of Holy Trinity major seminary in Jullundur in the Punjab state of India, Rev. Father Michael Anikuzhikattil of the Jullundur clergy. The new rector was born on 17 September 1954 at Kunchithanny. He attended St Paul's minor seminary in Lucknow and St Charles major seminary in Nagpur. He studied at Pontifical universities in Rome, Angelicum and the Gregorian. He was ordained a priest on 7 April 1983. He has since worked in several parishes and also held positions of responsibility in the diocese. At present he is parish priest of St Mary's Cathedral, professor at the major seminary, director of Zada Zamana, vice-president of the northern regional conference of diocesan priests, chairman of the council for education.
