EUROPE/ITALY - MOTHER TERESA OFFICIAL WEB SITE: PASSES CAN BE BOOKED FOR BEATIFICATION ON MISSION SUNDAY 19 OCTOBER

Rome (Fides Service) - If you want to know more about the beatification of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, scheduled for Mission Sunday, 19 October 2003, in St Peter's Square in Rome, you may now go to www.mothertereacause.info the new official web site. The page offers all sorts of information in three languages English, Spanish and Italian including how to take part. It is also possible to book Passes for the Papal Mass via e-mail or fax. The organisers advise early requests for bookings to guarantee a seat and to help better organisation.
The web site is run by the Postulators. In an interview the head Postulator Fr Brian underlines that Mother Teresa is not a saint "for the altars" distant from daily life, she is very close to the anxieties and doubts that weigh on the modern world. The site will have special section for messages and comments from readers and Mother Teresa supporters the world over, and there is also a message from Sr. Nirmala who took over from Mother Teresa the direction of the Congregation. "Her example - Sr Nirmala says- helps all of us to commit ourselves seriously to walking the path of holiness: to love God, and to respect and love every human being".
The beatification of Mother Teresa will coincide with three major events: World Mission Sunday, the 25th anniversary of the election as Bishop of Rome Successor of St. Peter, of the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II and the closing of this present special Year of the Rosary announced by the Pope last October.
