Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe. prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, has appointed (24 February 2003) National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Paraguay, Reverend Father Walter von Holzen, a member of the congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries SVD. The new National Director was born in Switzerland 58 years ago, he was ordained a priest in 1972. He studied for a Licentiate in Spirituality at the Pontifical Gregorian University. From 1975 to 1990 he was on mission in Paraguay, where he was also missionary animator of the local SVD Province (1984/1990) and where he started a missionary magazine Paraguay Misionero. From 1991 to 1993 he was sent on mission to Benin. Since August 2002 he has been head of the SVD Communications Centre in Asuncion, Paraguay. SL (Fides Service 27/2/2003. 11 LINES; 149 WORDS)
