Kinshasa (Fides Service) - "Our network of Catholic journalists
is a melting pot where members can better identify the demands
and professional ethics of journalism and communications"
Guy Matundu first co-ordinator adjunct of the International Union
of Catholic Press UCIP, for Democratic Congo told Fides Service.
" At the heart of its ethics the network places respect for
human life, honesty and objectivity. Our members are able to keep
themselves informed and up to date on various matters thanks to
a number of formation centres." The network's thirty members
contribute personally to running expenses; funds are scarce and
there are logistic problems, the association has still no stable
office, but the greatest support is the enthusiasm and hope of
its members. The local Church follows the new initiative with
interest making available its own documentation on various questions.
Among the members there are also members of the clergy. LM (Fides
