Milan (Fides Service) - Anna Pozzi, who writes for Mondo e Missione
missionary review, has been awarded the Premio Ragno, in memory
of Giuliano Ragno instituted by the Italian daily Avvenire and
the family of the late Giuliano Ragno, deputy-editor of the Catholic
daily who died in 1998. The motivation was as follows: "For
the stories of courage and hope collected in Africa and told with
simplicity in Mondo e Missione". Born in Lecco in 1970, after
obtaining a degree in philosophy, Anna Pozzi worked for Il Resegone
diocesan paper. She gained more experience in the field working
for L'Effort Cameruinais, a publication of the Catholic Bishops'
Conference in Cameroon, and for a few months with Africanews agency.
A professional writer since 1998, she wrote for two years with
Popoli, the Jesuit missionary magazine. Since January 2000 she
has written for Mondo e Missione missionary review published by
the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions PIME. She focuses
on Africa and has visited a number of countries on assignments,
Kenya, Sudan, Congo, Rwanda, Angola, Senegal, Mali, Somalia. SL
