Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples has appointed (12 December 2002) National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in France, Rev. Fr Jean-Marie Aubert.
Rev. Fr. Aubert was born on 23 February 1943 in Paris. He studied at Catholic schools and then at the Catholic Institute in Paris. In 1966-1968 he did national service of cooperation in Madagascar, teaching natural science and studying sociology at Tananarive university. He was ordained a priest in 1971 for the diocese of Paris and Diego-Suarez in Madagascar. He has been : assistant priest and parish priest, professor at the Catholic University in Lyons; academic secretary at the Catholic Institute of Madagascar, in Tananarive; secretary adjunct of the Bishops Commission for Missionary Cooperation.
