Vatican - The Pope makes a donation to Caritas Argentina: solidarity with the many who suffer

Buenos Aires (Fides Service) - Pope John Paul II has sent a sum of US$ 100,000 to Caritas Argentina as a token gesture of solidarity with the many who suffer hunger and malnutrition in the country, children especially. In a letter to Archbishop Vicent Mioras of Rosario, president of the Bishops' Conference, on behalf of the Pope, Cardinal Angelo Sodano expresses teh deep concern of the Holy Father. In the letter he says that the Pope calls on "all believers and all people of good will to work to eliminate with action, prayer and generous donations, the misery and poverty, working effectively to crat conditions of a better life for all, the little oens espcailly".
