Buenos Aires (Fides Service) - Pope John Paul II has sent a sum
of US$ 100,000 to Caritas Argentina as a token gesture of solidarity
with the many who suffer hunger and malnutrition in the country,
children especially. In a letter to Archbishop Vicent Mioras of
Rosario, president of the Bishops' Conference, on behalf of the
Pope, Cardinal Angelo Sodano expresses teh deep concern of the
Holy Father. In the letter he says that the Pope calls on "all
believers and all people of good will to work to eliminate with
action, prayer and generous donations, the misery and poverty,
working effectively to crat conditions of a better life for all,
