Vatican City (Fides Service) - Why Urban University? Fides Service put this question to Italian Giorgio Ferretti, a student for the priesthood at Urban University and also chairman of Omnes Gentes Urban University Student Association established in 1965. "I wanted to study here at Urban University for many reasons, all of them important. First of all the students come from every continent and therefore it offers an enormous opportunity for enrichment at the level of both personal friendship and cultural growth. Here you live side by side with young men from all over the world: we will one day be priests and brothers with a truly universal vision. At other colleges the students are mostly European. What is more in recent years, the level of teaching at Urban college has risen considerably, for example we have professors like Gnilka, a famous German Biblist, who is giving a course on Paul of Tarsis. Another reason, although secondary, is the university's position: it is wonderful to be so near St Peter's, surrounded by parkland where students can study, relax, use sports facilities, where it is easy to forge enriching and lasting friendships.
