Rome (Fides Service) - Among the activities organised in connection
with the Masters in Environmental Studies offered by the Regina
Apostolorum college in Rome, on November 28 the college will host
a congress: "GMO Food for Frankenstein or the end of Famine?"
The debate will be between those who see Genetically Modified
Organisms as food for Frankenstein and those who are convinced
they can serve to guarantee evergreen revolution, defeat famine,
increase productivity, reduce costs of agricultural production,
use less land and guarantee protection of environment. The moderator
will be Fr. Paolo Scarafoni, Rector of Regina Apostolorum College
and speakers will include, Prof. Francesco Sala, Docent of maths,
physics and natural science, Milan University, Prof. Vincenza
Mele, Docent at the Institute of Bio-Ethics at Sacred Heart Catholic
University in Rome, Nathalie Louise Moll, head of Assobiotec institutional
relations, Augustin Marine, President of the Association of maize
producers in Spain, Corrado Clini, Director General of the Italian
