-Message of Card. Sepe for third preparatory meeting for CAM2 |

| San Salvador (Fides Service) - A Message from Cardinal
Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation
of Peoples, to the third preparatory meeting for CAM 2, being held
in San Salvador, 25 - 28 November, was presented on behalf of the
Cardinal by Rev. Fr Massimo Cenci, Under Secretary of the CEP. The
theme of the meeting, held at San Jose de la Montana, is "Mission:
announcing the Gospel of Life in Central America". In his Message
the Cardinal expressed satisfaction for the initiative to call a
special Holy Year of Mission: Advent 2002 to Advent 2003. "After
the promulgation of the post synodal exhortation Ecclesia in America,
and the celebration of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000, the Church
in America - from Alaska to the Tiera del Fuego - faces, today more
than ever, the responsibility of undertaking with determination
new evangelisation and mission ad gentes - Card. Sepe writes, adding:
"The Missionary Congress (CAM 2) will be a special time in
which the particular Churches of America will take on these challenges
and give a concrete response to the ardent call of the Holy Father
to extend their evangelising zeal beyond the continental frontiers".
