Dassa-Zoume (Fides Service) - "Let everyone know about Jesus Christ, the only Saviour, and his message. Carry Christ, Bread, broken and shared for the life of all humanity. Eucharist and mission must walk together!". Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples said this at the closing Mass of Benin's first National Eucharistic Congress, on Sunday 24, in Dassa-Zoume. Participants included all the Bishops of Benin, the Apostolic Nuncio, numerous priests, religious and laity, and missionaries. Among the special guests representatives of other Christian communities and local Muslim and civic leaders. "Christians cannot keep the gift of the Eucharist for themselves - the Cardinal said - while not neglecting bodily hunger, which must be satisfied, we must strive to quench first of all the spiritual hunger and thirst.
