Rome (Fides Service) - "Neither fatigue, nor difficulties
nor failure shall shatter or weaken our dream of collaborating
through education to humanise the co-existence of peoples".
This is the hope and the commitment voiced by the Superior General
of the Daughters of Mary Auxiliatrix at the end of their 21st
Chapter held 125 years after the institute's first missionary
expedition to Patagonia. The Superior General says it is not easy
to put the "experience of the chapter into words". The
assembly is sharing, "communion, dreaming of God and the
cry of today that challenges our communities". The Chapter
agreed that the institute would undergo a process of research
on religious life and renewal of commitment as Daughters of Mary
Auxiliatrix to identify steps for the revision of the text of
Institute's Constitutions. (SL) (Fides Service 23/11/2002)
