Rome (Fides Service) - Examine almost four centuries of history
in order to open to new horizons with new impulse. "From
Urban College to Pontifical Urban University, PUU, 375 years of
history" is the theme of a three day seminar 28-30 November
at the PUU. Speakers will include Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect
of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples (CEP) who
is Grand Chancellor of the University, Cardinal Francis Arinze,
Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline
of the Sacraments, Archbishop Robert Sarah, Secretary of the CEP
and Mons. Ambrogio Spreafico, PUU Rector. Among other participants,
Rev. Fidel Gonzalez Fernandez, Rector of the present day Urban
College which accommodates students from mission territories,
and professors Giovanni Rizzi, Luigi Mezzadri, Giorgio Fedalto,
Gianfrancesco Colzani, Carmelo Dotolo and Benedict Kanakappally.
The seminar will focus on the history and mission of the PUU within
the centuries old history of the Congregation for the Evangelisation
of Peoples which since the 17th century has organised and directed
the missionary activity of the Catholic Church in the New World
