San Salvador (Fides Service) - "Mission: proclaiming the Gospel of Life in Central America" is the slogan of a meeting in view of CAM 2, 25-30 November 2003. The preparatory meeting will be held in San Salvador from 25-28 November. Bishops of Mission Commissions, National Pontifical Mission Societies Directors, national and diocesan mission commissions experts in missiology, theologians, Religious major superiors, delegates of lay movements, representatives of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples in Rome, and CELAM Council of Latin American Bishops Conferences, will reflect on various themes: situations which threaten our peoples today; mission, announcing the Gospel of life; mission ad gentes at the beginning of the 21st century; from central America, a proposal for mission ad gentes for the particular Churches in the coming s years". The meeting will close with a concelebration of the Eucharist in San Salvador Cathedral and the inauguration of a local Holy Year of Mission. (Fides Service 14/11/2002)
