Among the most important achievements that have marked the life of the Congregation de Propaganda Fide, in almost four centuries of its history, we highlight:

• The Instruction of 1659, referred to as the Magna Charta of Propaganda.
• The Pontifical Urban College, established by Pope Urban VII (1623-1644) in 1627.
• The Urban University established August 1 1627.
• In 1626 a printing press was opened to print books in the language of the peoples living in mission territories.

• The creation of more than 1500 dioceses, of which more than 500 have already passed under common or oriental right.
• The approval of the founding of hundreds of Institutes of Consecrated Life which are specifically missionary or are in mission territories.
• The Pontifical Mission Societies.
