That in Africa cooperation between missionary Institutes
and local Churches may grow with respect for the variety of gifts |
| That sound preparation of candidates for the priesthood
and ongoing training of ordained ministers may be carefully provided
for |
APRIL
|
That the missionary spirit ad gentes may be a theme
of reflection and constant commitment in ordinary pastoral activity
of Christian communities |
That the family, founded on marriage of a husband and wife, may
be recognised as the basic cell of human society

MAY
|
That through the maternal intercession of Our Lady, Catholics may
recognise the Eucharist as the heart and soul of missionary activity
|
| That all Christians may be constantly more aware
of their personal and community responsibility to bear witness to
god's love for every man and woman |
JUNE

That religious freedom, a fundamental human right, may be given
greater respect in Asian countries

That all those who enjoy a period of vacation at this time of year
may use this time to rediscover in God their inward harmony and
open themselves to the love of others |
JULY

That in young Churches the laity may receive more attention and
be turned to greater account in evangelisation

That the European Union may draw new impulse from the Christian
heritage which has always been an essential part of its culture
and history |
AUGUST

For ever greater unity and cooperation among Institutes
working in the missions |
| That old people may be considered as asset to the
spiritual and human growth of society |
SEPTEMBER

That in Africa authentic brotherly cooperation
may develop among all those who work for the growth and development
of ecclesial Communities |
| That firm in faith Christians will be eager to
dialogue with people who belong to a different religion |
OCTOBER

That the due presence of Catholics in national
life and in the media of the Latin American continent may increase

| That Christian men and women aware of the their
vocation in the Church may answer generously to God's call to strive
for holiness of life |

That all those who work in the missionary will
never forget that personal holiness and intimate union with Christ
are the source of the efficacy of evangelisation |
| That children may be considered precious gifts
of God and be given due respect, understanding and love |
