INSTRUMENTUM MENSIS IULII PRO LECTURA MAGISTERII SUMMI PONTIFICI BENEDICTI XVI, PRO EVANGELIZATIONE IN TERRIS MISSIONUM

Saturday, 30 July 2005

In the month of July Pope Benedict XVI took a short holiday in the Alps, Les Combes (Val d’Aosta), in the same house where Pope John Paul II used to stay. A month marked by a number of terrorist attacks and once again the Supreme Pontiff raised his voice to implore Almighty God to comfort the grieving families and convert hearts. A month marked by a meeting of the planet’s leaders in Scotland, a meeting which prompted the Pope to recall once again the poorest people of the earth , the suffering peoples of Africa in particular. During his Sunday Angelus reflections the Pope continued his teaching on Christian doctrine explaining the treasures of Holy Scripture.
