Turin (Agenzia Fides) - After nearly 5 years since the earthquake in Haiti, many families are still living in makeshift tents and, unfortunately, many live in the open, along roadsides. Thanks to the association Midian Horizons, a non-profit organization, of the Camilliane Missions, the project "Vita Ville" was born, with the objective of providing decent housing for poor families, offer a small plot of land to improve their economic condition, ensure the possibility of living together, teaching people to respect the basic principles for fraternal harmony and solidarity through religious, moral , professional education and health care. Each house has a kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom with a toilet and a sink, a porch in front and behind the house. The roof is made of metal, wooden ceiling, exterior doors made of iron. Artesian wells, which will be excavated in coming months, and a hydraulic system to ensure efficient household water for domestic use and for the garden. This project was born from the desire to restore hope to the victims of the earthquake and allow some poor families to face life with a solid shelter. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 04/06/2014)
