Wednesday, 21 May 2014

Tripoli (Agenzia Fides) - "We spent a quiet night, although I heard that the NATO offices linked to the European Union, that are here in Tripoli were bombed. Probably these two institutions were symbolically hit", says to Fides Agency His Exc. Mgr. Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli, Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli. Heavy gunfire and explosions were reported in the early hours of today, May 21, near two military bases of the Libyan capital. "However, the situation is calm. There is therefore an apparent peace", concluded Mgr. Martinelli. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 21/05/2014)
