AFRICA/MADAGASCAR - Resignation of the Bishop of Port-Bergé and appointment of successor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father, on December 15, 2013, accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Port-Bergé, Madagascar, by His Exc. Mgr. Armand Toasy, in accordance with canon 401 § 2 of the Code of Canon Law. He is succeeded by His Exc. Mgr. Georges Varkey Puthiyakulangara, M.E.P., Coadjutor of the same Diocese.
