AFRICA/SUDAN - Air raid on a school in the area of the Nuba Mountains: people killed and wounded

El Abassiya (Agenzia Fides) - Five people were killed and 20 wounded during an air raid on a school in the town of El Abassiya on the Nuba Mountains in Southern Kordofan in Sudan. According to information released by Radio Dabanga a military aircraft of the Sudanese Air Force (SAF) dropped three bombs on the Dar es Salaam elementary school in the village of Umm Marha which is located in the western part of El Abassiya. Among those who were killed there are also 3 children, while 20 others were injured and transported to the small city hospital. The air raid also destroyed homes and livestock. The SAF bombed other areas, arousing horror and panic among the population of Umm Marha and surrounding villages. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 06/11/2013)
