Santo Domingo (Agenzia Fides) - 29 children have died due to dengue since the beginning of the year at the Robert Reid Cabral Children's Hospital in Santo Domingo, 1561 cases have been registered, and 23 patients are currently hospitalized. According to the health authorities of the center it is crucial to pay attention to every child who comes to the hospital with symptoms of the virus, since the diagnosis that confirms the disease develops within 5 to 6 days. Unlike other infectious diseases, for dengue, the moment when the fever decreases is when one must pay attention to symptoms ranging from severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and severe physical degradation.
