ASIA/CHINA - The assessment of catechumens in the parish of the Immaculate Conception celebrated in the Seminary to promote vocations

Beijing (Fides Service) - The catechumens of the course of catechism in the parish of Na Tang in Beijing, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception (and is currently the Cathedral) celebrated the assessment during the visit- pilgrimage to the Seminary of the Diocese of Beijing, on Sunday, March 4. According to information gathered by Fides, about 155 pilgrims among catechumens and their parents, catechists, priests and women religious went to the Seminary. In addition to prayer and the solemn Eucharistic celebration, they also heard a presentation of the history and development of the Seminary, the procedure followed for the formation of vocations, the rhythms of the seminarians life and a brief summary on the Liturgy of the Church presented by the Rector of the Seminary . They then visited the structure, bringing small gifts to the seminarians, consisting of basic necessities: "a small flower symbol of Lenten charity dedicated to the seminarians" as they called it themselves. The solemn ritual of the assessment was the culmination of this pilgrimage: the catechumens who attended the course of catechism passing the theory test, confirmed the conviction of wanting to become Catholics, and received the Cross and exchanged a gesture of friendship with the seminarians.
