AMERICA/GUATEMALA - Course of missionary animation and spirituality for young people: it is a necessity and a priority to know foundations and criteria for evangelisation

Guatemala City (Agenzia Fides) - Some 60 youth leaders from parishes in Guatemala City will take part in a Course of missionary animation and spirituality for young people organised by the Pontifical Mission Socities in Guatemala together with the office for youth pastoral of the archdiocese of Guatemala City. The organisers say "every Catholic leader must realise the necessity to prepare for the mission entrusted to us by Our Lord Jesus Christ and to help the young people of our parishes and movements do the same". The archdiocese of Guatemala City recalls that "it is necessity and a priority to know foundations and criteria for evangelisation".
The course will consist of four weekend sessions 23-24 June; 28-29 July; 29-30 September; 10-11 November. Other initiatives include a Youth Mission from 22 November to 2 December and a celebration of Missionary Consecration at the Eucharistic Shrine in Guatemala.
