VATICAN - “God: peace or dominion” - Tomorrow in the presence of members of the Curia, Church Movements and religious institutions the chairman of the Italian Senate will present a television programme on the connection between religions for peace and harmony among peoples

Vatican City (Fides Service) - It has taken three years to collect documentation on the coexistence of peoples through situations, opinions and unreachable realities some unknown or some manipulated one against the other, without their knowledge. This is the first ever collection of 88 testimonies from the principal religious traditions: Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Animist, Buddhist, Taoist, Jiani, Bahay… This vast quantity of material was channelled towards a programme for RAI UNO, which has as supervising editor Bishop Mons Mauro Piacenza, with the title «God: peace or dominion”», which will be presented by the second most important state position the chairman of the Italian Senate Franco Marini, on Thursday 31 May at 6.30pm.
««God: peace or dominion», focuses on the sensitive issue of inter-religious dialogue and the most relevant question of relations between Christianity and other religious traditions. With a remarkable collection of testimony from all over the world which makes it a unique document, the programme confronts ideas and convictions, extremism and tensions, in a dramatically realistic and effective framework. Five hours of “diversity” so people will no longer see the other as the "enemy", or attempt to assimilate him in their own culture, free to express differences without violent demarcation of ideological borders.
Present for the preview representatives of different religious realities, Church Movements, members of the Roman Curia including our Archbishop Henryk Hoser President of the Pontifical Mission Societies, prominent figures of the cultural and academic world.
The programme in 5 episodes of about 55 minutes will be broadcast on RAIUNO for five Tuesdays from 12 June, after 10pm. Supervising editor Bishop Mauro Piacenza. Collaborators include Rev Nicola Bux, Fr Massimo Cenci, Rev Salvatore Vitiello. Texts by the director Luca De Mata. Perhaps for the first time theology inaccessible for most people has become an image: visible, audible, almost touchable for many of those who, watching «God: peace or dominion», cannot fail to ask themselves what is the Truth.
