EUROPE/SPAIN - National Days for Diocesan Mission Delegates and the general assembly of diocesan directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Spain.

Madrid (Agenzia Fides) - From 22 to 24 May Madrid will host National Days for Diocesan Mission Delegates and the general assembly of diocesan directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Spain. Among those present for the opening session Bishop Ramón del Hoyo of the diocese of Jaen and president of the Spanish Bishops' Commission for the Missions and co-operation among the Churches; Archbishop Francisco Pérez González, military Ordinary and national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Spain; Bishop Camilo Lorenzo Iglesias of the diocese of Astorga, Bishop Amadeo Rodríguez Magro of Plasencia and the members of the Bishops' Commission for the Missions.
On the first day special guest from Rome Archbishop Henryk Hoser secretary adjunct of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples and president of the Pontifical Mission Societies will speak on the subject of the Fidei Donum Encyclical published fifty years ago. This will be followed by reports from various missionary institutions such as OCSHA, SCAM and NGO Misión America and missionaries will share their experience.
The second day will begin with a panel discussion on the Missionary Vocation ad vitam, and will include reports on the activity of the PMS offices and council and end with the presentation of pastoral activities 2007/2008. On the third and final day Fr Vito del Prete Secretary General of the Pontifical Missionary Union, will speak about World Mission Sunday and the theme "All the Churches for all the World".
