AMERICA/BOLIVIA - "Life and Family Foundation" established by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference will help society in activities to sustain and defend life and the family

La Paz (Agenzia Fides) - A Life and Family Foundation established by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference during a recent plenary assembly, begins to operate today 11 April. The offices at the Edificio Esperanza in the city of La Paz, will be blessed by the Foundation’s president Bishop Cristóbal Bialasik of the diocese of Oruro. The Foundation will help society in activities to sustain and defend the family, human life and human dignity. It will operate chiefly in the fields of formation, defence of life as a fundamental right, defence of the family as the natural cradle of life and defence of marriage between a man and a woman. The Foundation will also coordinate the activity of various instances operating in this field to unite efforts and intensify initiatives in the areas of education and healthcare. Its short term task will be to establish an alliance with educational realities, especially Catholic schools and universities. Already planned is a meeting in October for all pro-life realities in Bolivia, in view of nation wide coordination. Also in October there will be concert with the title "A Message for Life" to be presented on 12 October in the cities of Oruro, Cochabamba, La Paz and Santa Cruz.
