Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - “Form the faithful to love and live God’s will, evangelising families with God’s love” is the goal adopted by Hong Kong diocesan Council for the Laity in the local year for the Family. According to the diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao the goals were discussed and approved at a general meeting of the Council on March 14. The Council agreed that the goals are in keeping with the diocesan Year of the Family for evangelisation of the family for which material has been distributed . At the meeting the Bishop of Kong Kong, the auxiliary bishop and the vicar general and about a hundred parish representatives and volunteers reviewed the activity of the past year and discussed the new plan. In his report the vice director of the Laity Council said the quantity of work has increased considerably with formation workshops and with help and exchange with mainland Catholic communities, mainly through Caritas efforts to assist poor children and people with leprosy. At the end of the meeting the local Church leaders thanked the council members for the work and encouraged them to work ever hard for the formation of the laity in view of active part in diocesan and social life.
