EUROPE/ITALY - 40 Italian towns join 4th edition of “Forty Hours Prayer for the Church in Need”

Rome (Fides Service) - The 4th edition of “Forty Hours Prayer for the Church in Need” 27 - 29 March started yesterday in the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Rome. The initiative is promoted by the officially recognised Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need. This 2007 edition is kindly hosted by the Jesuit Fathers with the participation of the Marian Congregation of Our Lady of the Assumption, founded in 1583. There will be exposition at the daily Chapel at 4pm followed by Mass at 6pm. Similar initiatives have been organised all over Italy in 39 different towns including Milan, Trieste, Florence, Reggio Calabria, Siracusa and Sassari in collaboration with parish communities which host and promote awareness campaigns and meetings on the Church in Need.
