AMERICA/ARGENTINA - "We are the Church it is time to share": 3rd national Church-support campaign 17 and 18 March in dioceses throughout the country

Buenos Aires (Fides Service) - "We are the Church it is time to share" is the theme of the 3rd national Church-Support campaign next weekend in dioceses throughout the country 17 and 18 March promoted by the Argentinean Bishops’ Commission for Economic Issues. Commission president Archbishop. José María Arancibia of the diocese of Mendoza said the Campaign aims to increase awareness “that the Church is funded by the faithful not the state”. In a Letter issued for the occasion the Bishops encourage Catholics live the faith "in a spirit of communion and sharing that our communities may be the living presence of Jesus in the world and his message of love and salvation may reach all men and women".
“You already to much for the Church. We are grateful to be sent by Jesus to the world and we are grateful for the generous work of priests, consecrated person and lay persons” the Bishops write, noting however that “there is still much work to be done to announce Jesus in every house and for the Gospel to change our country into a country of brothers and sisters”. We encourage all to “share talents, time and material goods”, and be ever more deeply committed to sustaining the daily life and evangelising work of the respective communities, “so many more people may experience God’s love for mankind”.
