EUROPE/ENGLAND AND WALES - “The challenge of worldwide mission in a changing Europe”: European meeting National Directors of Pontifical Mission Societies 16 to 20 March

Durham (Fides Service) - The Pontifical Mission Societies in England and Wales are hosting the annual European meeting of National Directors in Durham this weekend (March 16th-20th).The theme for this year’s congress is: The challenge of worldwide mission in a changing Europe. It will be held at St Cuthbert’s College, Ushaw, the seminary for the north of England. Speakers will include, Professor James Dunn, an expert on the New Testament and a former Lightfoot professor of Divinity from the University of Durham, Chris Bain of CAFOD, Maggie Roux, senior Media lecturer at Trinity and All Saints’ College, Leeds, and Clare Openshaw from Leeds University. Archbishop Henryk Hoser, SAC, President of the Pontifical Mission Societies and Secretary of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples will also attend.
