Quito (Agenzia Fides) - “True Love; Family and Educative Community; How to be good parents today” are three themes for reflection during a Pro Vita et Familia Pre-Congress organised in the archdiocese of Quito (Ecuador) 8-10 March in preparation for the 1st National Pro-Life and Family Congress in Guayaquil 21 to 25 March (see Fides 26/2/2007). The Pre-Congress will be held in Quito at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador.
Bishop Danilo Echeverría, Auxiliary of Quito said the purpose of the pre-congress is to intensify evangelisation throughout the country with special attention for families and human life and he warmly invited educators, parents, students, priests, pastoral workers, representatives of religious movements to participate.
Three conferences will be given for audience groups: 8th March for secondary school pupils "True Love"; 9 March for teachers "Family and Educative Community”; 10 March for parents "How to be good parents today”.
In the meantime participants continue to register for the 1st National Pro-Life and Family Congress in Guayaquil 21 to 25 March on the theme "Life and the Family: the Whole Truth”. The congress objectives are to denounce the present day culture of death, announce the whole truth on human life and the family in the light of the Gospel, Church teaching and scientific knowledge to increase awareness of need to value and respect life and the family.
