Rome (Fides Service) – In his address to introduce the International Symposium “Fides et Ratio encyclical five years on” Cardinal Camillo Ruini, the Pope’s Vicar for Rome diocese, highlighted the document’s enormous impact on the Church pastoral work and cultural activity. “Down through the centuries – the Cardinal concluded – Church teaching has always manifested its interest for research and progress of the truth. This Symposium organised by the Lateran University, as part of initiatives to mark the Holy Father’s Jubilee, will show how faith and reason when they are in search of the truth, walk together and in this unity they pose the premises for real progress of knowledge.
