OCEANIA/AUSTRALIA - “Every Day with Jesus”: Brisbane archdiocese proposes multi media resource Lent preparation programme for all age groups

Monday, 19 February 2007

Brisbane (Agenzia Fides) - Every Day with Jesus is the title of a 2007 Lent to Pentecost programme made available by the Catholic archdiocese of Brisbane to encourage the faithful to spend a little time every day with Jesus in prayer, meditation, reading the Gospels, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, works of charity. The programme consists of multimedia resources that can be used with a number of age groups from children through to adults. The website allows group leaders to download samples of the books and some complementary materials.
Accompanying the 2007 Lent to Pentecost programme the faithful will find: a DVD resource containing six responses to previous Gospels and a narration of the Lenten Gospel; mediation and music DCs; CD3 adult programme consisting of music for meditation.
Archbishop John Bathersby hopes the programme will motivate the faithful to prepare spiritually for Easter. The diocesan animators think that if well presented, a pastoral initiative, rather than an obligation or penance, can be an enriching spiritual experience.
