AMERICA/VENEZUELA - “Young Builders of a New School and a New World”: Catholic Student Week calls young people to build a civilisation of love

Caracas (Fides Service) - In view of the annual Student’s Day celebrated by the Church in Venezuela on the Sunday following February 12 the animators and advisers of Youth and Student Pastoral Care of the Venezuelan Association for Catholic Education AVEC are promoting a Catholic Student Week from 12 to 18 February. The purpose of the Week which has taken the slogan “Young Builders of a New School and a New World”, is to encourage students to take a more active part in the re-organisation of school life and promote a new civilisation of love.
The Week is for young people because they are adults of tomorrow called to build a society based on the human values of the Gospel of Jesus. Although the event is organised by Catholics all young Venezuelans are encouraged to take part in the many events at schools and cultural centres, discussions on Natural Law and Young People and on the proposed new Education Law, sports events, formation seminars, meetings open to the educative community, youth missions in state schools, all aimed at building a mini network of students.
